Painting Description and Details

The USS Slater (DE766) is currently moored in the Hudson River at Albany, New York. As one of the only surviving destroyer escorts of World War II, the Slater is a memorial and museum honoring the thousands of crewman that proudly served about these ships. This painting depicts the Slater in December of 1944 when she escorted convoy CU48 enroute to England.
